BeatsCoach uses your heart rate to determine resting times during high-intensity training, based on your own personal fitness level. Stay focussed and maintain a measured high intensity level, by not worrying whether you’re resting too long or rushing between sets.

HEART RATE MONITOR
Before downloading please note this app requires a heart rate monitor. Heart rate monitors can be purchased from our online store at www.trakstore.com.au.

HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (HIT)
HIT can include speed, interval or strength training. HIT exercises should be brief, infrequent, and intense. HIT is primarly used to stimulate an increase in muscular strength and size. BeatsCoach can make your HIT workouts more effective by optimising resting times, assisting muscular overload, and improving training results. After completing a high intensity set to muscular failure, BeatsCoach detects when your heart rate falls below the optimum recovery heart rate, and alerts you to begin the next set. Your optimum recovery heart rate is calculated using the Karvonen formula.

HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING (HIIT)
BeatsCoach may also be useful in HIIT, characterised by short bursts of cardiovascular exercises performed to improve glucose metabolism and reduce body fat.
